CarMate for the trade
Check every car before you buy it.
One bad buy at auction, a hidden write-off, finance owing, a clocked motor, wipes the margin on three good ones. CarMate reads the lot or the car before you commit: the damage, the all-in cost, the history, the fair price, and a straight buy-or-walk call. Built for dealers, traders and auction buyers.
The maths every trader knows
Buy ten cars right and one wrong, and the wrong one can swallow the profit on the rest. The bad buys are rarely obvious in the listing or on the ramp, they are in the records: finance still owing, a write-off nobody mentioned, a mileage that has been wound back. CarMate surfaces them before you bid, not after you have paid.
What you can check
The same checks you already do in your head, done in about a minute, on the record not the hunch.
Auction lots, before you bid
Copart and BCA lots read for you: the damage category, a repair estimate, the all-in cost with fees and VAT, and a max bid that protects your margin. Catch the Cat A/B and the structural jobs before they catch you.
Stock, before you buy it
Any car you are buying in: outstanding finance, insurance write-off, stolen and scrapped markers via Experian, plus a mileage and clocking cross-check from full MOT history. The stuff that turns a good buy into a write-down.
Provenance you can show your buyers
A clean, shareable report on the cars you sell. Proof the history stacks up builds trust on the forecourt and moves metal faster, without the buyer haggling on a doubt you have already cleared.
How it works
Reg or lot number
Drop in a plate, a Copart or BCA lot, or a screenshot of the advert. No account faff for you to run one.
Verdict in about a minute
Price against the market, the history, the MOT and mileage story, the auction numbers, one clear read.
Buy, haggle, or walk
A straight call before you commit money, so a bad lot never eats the profit on three good ones.
It pays for itself on the first bad buy it stops
A single undisclosed Cat N, a car with finance still owing, or one that is clocked can cost you hundreds to thousands and a chunk of your reputation. A check costs a few pounds. You do not need CarMate to be right often. You need it to be right once.

Trade FAQs
What does CarMate do for used car dealers?
It checks a car before you buy it. For auction buyers it reads Copart and BCA lots (damage category, repair estimate, all-in cost and a max bid). For stock, it runs the full history (finance, write-off, stolen, mileage) via Experian and a fair-price verdict. The point is to stop one bad buy wiping the margin on your good ones.
Can I check a lot of cars, or in bulk?
Yes. Trade accounts run on credits with no subscription lock-in, priced on your volume. If you are checking a list of regs or a run of lots, we set you up so it is quick and everything sits in one place. Tell us roughly how many cars a month and we will sort the right rate.
Does it work for Copart and BCA auction lots?
Yes, both. Paste the lot or the details and CarMate reads the damage, works out the all-in cost including buyer fees and VAT, and gives you a max bid. It flags Cat A and Cat B lots and the ones that need a structural or diagnostic check before you go near them.
How much does trade access cost?
It is credit-based and worked out on your volume, not a fixed subscription. We are onboarding the first dealers directly right now, so the quickest way to get a straight price is to tell us how many cars you check a month and we will come back with a rate.
Can I show the history report to my own buyers?
Yes. Every check produces a clean report you can download or share. Handing a buyer proof the car is clear of finance, has genuine mileage and a solid history takes the doubt out of the sale and helps you hold your price.
